چکیده
The energy system analysis of an integrated process producing synthetic natural gas (SNG) from woody biomass has been carried out. Two different configurations have proposed and modeled, considering the integration between gasification, solid oxide electrolysis (SOEC) catalytic reactors for methane synthesis. two investigated differ in size SOEC unit. In first configuration, unit is sized to increase H2 content produced syngas satisfy methanation reaction stoichiometric requirement. second provides gasifier requested amount oxygen. For this additional section composed a water shift (WGS) reactor carbon capture sequestration (CCS) required adjust reacting composition thus ensure proper stoichiometry process. compared at same gasification condition. modeled studied choose parameters' appropriate values, as equivalence ratio steam-to-biomass ratio, their impact on outlet temperature composition. whole analyzed thermodynamic standpoint. After thermal streams plant, efficiency calculated both configurations: one (SOEC hydrogen requirement) presented 71.7 %, while oxygen showed 66.8 %.

Co-processing methane in high temperature steam gasification of biomass.
High temperature steam gasification/reforming of biomass-methane mixtures was carried out in an indirectly heated entrained flow reactor to analyze the feasibility of controlling the output composition of the major synthesis gas products: H(2), CO, CO(2), CH(4). A 2(3) factorial experimental design was carried out and compared to thermodynamic equilibrium predictions. Experiments demonstrated t...

متن کاملBiomass Gasification
Modern agriculture is an extremely energy intensive process. However high agricultural productivities and subsequently the growth of green revolution has been made possible only by large amount of energy inputs, especially those from fossil fuels. With recent price rise and scarcity of these fuels there has been a trend towards use of alternative energy sources like solar, wind, geothermal etc....
متن کاملEnergy and Exergy Analysis of High Temperature Agent Gasification of Biomass
A chemical equilibrium model was developed to predict the product composition of a biomass gasification system using highly preheated air and steam. The advantages and limitations of this system were discussed from a thermodynamic viewpoint. The first and second law analyses have been conducted for various preheating temperatures and steam/biomass mass (S/B) ratios. The results demonstrated tha...
